“Zapt” (stylized abbreviation for “Zakarpattya”) is an excerpt from a work by Mitya Churikov and Marcus Heep. For a year the artists go regularly to this region in Ukraine, which borders Hungary, Slovakia and Romania. The area is marked by ethnic tensions and frorms a smuggling route into the European Union.
“Zapt” is a quasi-archaeological research of Uzhgorod, the Hautpstadt the region. Objects, found objects, notes and interviews contact with the features of the region apart and spring iconography of everyday life in a landscape of the 21st century.
Detached from a meta- narration a complex a narrative is embossed by economic and ideological peculiarities of the landscape. The project includes 8 channel video installations, sculptures and a series of photographs. the presentation will took place this fall in Uzhgorod and Kiev, and another vacant space. February 2018.

„Zapt“ (stilisierte Abkürzung für „Zakarpattya“) ist ein Ausschnitt aus einer Arbeit von Mitya Churikov und Marcus Heep. Seit einem Jahr fahren die Künstler regelmäßig in diese Region in der Ukraine, die dicht an Ungarn, die Slowakei und Rumänien grenzt. Die Gegend ist von ethnischen Spannungen und vom Schmuggel in die europäische Union geprägt. „Zapt” ist eine quasi-archäologischen Forschung über Uzhgorod, die Hautpstadt der Region. Objekte, Fundstücke, Notizen und Interviews setzen sich mit den Merkmalen der Region auseinander und entspringen Ikonografien des Alltags in einer Landschaft des 21. Jahrhunderts. Losgelöst von einer Meta-Narration werden die Betrachterinnen und Betrachter mit der vielschichtigen Ökonomie einer durch wirtschaftliche und ideologische Besonderheiten geprägten Landschaft konfrontiert. Das Projekt umfasst 8 Kanal-Videoinstallationen, Skulpturen und eine Reihe von Fotografien. Die Präsentation wird in diesem Herbst in Uzhgorod und Kiew stattfinden, und another vacant space., Februar 2018.
